It was SO cool to see the baby inside!! I really can't believe it's in there. You won't either when you see the pictures. Here is the ultrasound girl:
She was so nice and explained it all to us! She started with the head and the brain, then went down to the face and the heart. We could even see all four chambers of the heart! She told us when to look away so she could get a glimpse of if it was a he or a she! It was really funny because the head, heart, etc. were all measuring 19 weeks, then it gets to the stomach, and it measured 20 weeks 5 days! I said it looks like its mother, but Adam said, "No, it's taking after me!" She wrote the sex down and sealed it, along with the pictures in the envelope. They actually said a lot of people have been doing this lately because they are going to open it up on Christmas!
And THIS is my WONDERFUL doctor, Dr. Sellers, whom I love and trust so much. I even got Adam to admit he loves him too! He is a wonderful Christian man, so laid back and patient and he really takes time to answer any and all our questions (and you all know I have LOTS of those! I bring my little list in to every appointment!) He also realizes the benefits of birthing naturally, important to me and Adam.
So here are some pictures of Baby Acklin. Yes, the girl only saw one baby, but there might be one hiding behind it that we couldn't see.
Believe it or not, this was the hardest picture to get! Everytime she would get a good shot, s/he would turn and look at us!! Like this:
Can you believe it?!
See that big ol' belly? Just like me!
Don't worry. S/he was NOT sucking their thumb!
Looking down at head/shoulders/arms
Then we had to look away so she could get some pictures to show us the sex of the baby later!!! I asked her if I could see the feet, if they looked like runner's feet or not.
One foot; can't tell if it has my long toes or not?!
Other foot; am I the only one they look BIG to?
Okay, so after I got off work, Adam and I went to a store called Pickles and Ice Cream to pick out our outfits! Here is the sales clerk with our two outfits!
And here is me and Adam about to leave Pickles and Ice Cream!
We went to eat at YaYa's, our FAVORITE restaurant for dates or special occasions! And tonight was BOTH! Here is Adam opening the gift:
Yes, I am dragging this out on purpose!!!!
We made it through our appetizers, and we opened the present before our meals came. It was perfect!!
Are you really ready for this???
YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who know Adam, you KNOW this smile! SO proud!!
One of the first things he said after we opened up the gift was, "Let me see his sausage!"
It was so fun looking at the pictures because they were sealed up with the card all day! Here are the shots we weren't allowed to see earlier:
Okay, so then the what seems like EIGHTH round of fun began! We went over to our friends Cristina and Stephen's house. We were going to tell them, then Cristina was going to text my mom the picture from her phone! (Our phones can't send pictures, and my mother is in Kentucky visiting a friend right now!) We ended up talking to my mom on her friend, Lisa's phone, while Cristina sent the pictures to my mom's phone. For some reason, whether it be my mother's technological incapabilities, or the phone service, it took a REALLY long time for her to receive them!
Then us trying to help my mom get the text message/picture of the outfit!!
Poor Bella, Cristina's dog, was so excited and confused, she didn't know what to do!
Okay, so like an HOUR later, my mom finally figures it all out, and we leave to go meet Larry and Leota at our house! They've been dying to find out and came by after church.
Leota had thought it was a boy, and so did Adam's dad, Kenny. Most of my family and friends thought it would be a girl. I forgot to mention that today after we left the ultrasound, Adam said, "I know it's a boy, 100 percent." When I asked him why, he just said, "When we saw his face, I just felt like it was a boy."
So there it is! My life will be full of dirt and sports for a very long time!!! I had been thinking I will never see this kid because Adam plans on taking it everywhere he goes, even to the fieldhouse on Saturday mornings! I asked him if he planned on doing that even if it was a girl, and he replied, "Of course. They'll be my little buddy!" He is so loved already!!!

I am so excited for you! A boy!!! Dr. Sellers is my doctor, too, and I love him so much! He is soooo quiet and calm - which is going to be good during labor and delivery! I've had a great experience as his patient so far. I love reading about your pregnancy... I hope all is going well at Baptist!
