21 weeks

We got to see our baby last week!  There are risks with ultrasound so this was the second and last one we will have.  Peace of mind is worth a LOT!  It confirmed the baby's heart had 4 chambers, the umbilical cord had 3 vessels, my placenta was far from my cervix, spinal cord and vertebrae looked great, and no indicators of chromosomal defects.  While ultrasound doesn't catch everything, it gave my midwife the info she needed to ensure I was low risk to move forward with home birth.

Because my OB is not letting visitors in the office (which I STRONGLY disagree with), we chose to go to Baby Views for our 20 week anatomy scan.  You know, so Adam could see his own child.  And so he could be with me in case something didn't go well in the scan.  It was my first experience at a place like that but it was so informative!  The sonographer was so thorough, we even got to see all the baby's organs, brain, etc!  We got lots of printed and emailed pics, plus a video on DVD of the ultrasound!

I did not intend on the 4D because it is even more intense on the baby but she turned it on for a few seconds before we realized it and got these shots!  So so crazy and amazing!  S/he kept his/her hands up by the face the entire time!  She said those babies a lot of time are the ones who end up scratching their faces if that is their habit in utero πŸ’“

Adam said he has felt like it was a boy but when he saw his/her face on the ultrasound, he felt like it looked like Izabella and was a girl!  I have no idea but I said if this child comes out looking like him, we are going to have to have another one LOL!

S/he was moving nonstop and the sonographer asked me what I fed the baby!  We ate Chick Fil A and orange juice before we went so I guess that did the trick LOL

We are NOT finding out the gender and we reminded her of that!  Because the baby was moving and flipping so much, she told us not to look and went straight to the legs/feet!

The final pic.

But of course there were outtakes trying to get a pic without a glare and with Adam looking at the right place! I guess I should have just closed the sunroof- whoops!

I was really excited to show the kids after they got out of school but all Izabella said was, "I wish the pictures were in color."  TOUGH CROWD.

The new thing this year: Hot Cocoa Bombs!
You pour hot milk over the bombs and then they "blossom" open with marshmallows inside for the perfect cup of hot chocolate!

The week of Adam's 39th birthday was filled with lots of fun, including decorating for Christmas and frying a turkey!  (I might have been craving turkey and corn casserole!)

This is seriously the easiest pie and tastes so good.  It is my friend from work, Autumn's granny's recipe.

Izabella had been asking for "that orange stuff with marshmallows," so I found a recipe and sweet potato casserole was a hit!

D Bo, one of Adam's players from Central years ago, came by and we had a mini Thanksgiving/Christmas feast for Adam's birthday :)

The bump has arrived!  Izabella examines my belly pretty regularly.  She excited exclaimed the other day, "Oh wow, your belly is finally getting big, and it's really hard too!"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Adam also felt our baby kick this past week, so that was really really special!

So so thankful already for this precious baby.  I just never knew if the time would ever be right for us to have another oneπŸ’“
