Adam was interviewed by KTHV before one of the home games this past season. We were so excited because they talked to him for a long time; it wasn't just a "glimpse" on the news! Amazed and thankful that at 29 years old, he was named defensive coordinator for a 7A school like Central! Football is his passion, and mentoring young men is his mission. Here are some pics of the boys I've grown to know and love:
In leiu of our Christmas Cookie Exchange, we collected cookies for these boys. Thanks to lots of generous people, Adam toted nearly 100 containers of homemade goodness to Central High School!

I was just ecstatic to see the baby was perfectly healthy (I promise!). But let me tell you, the images I have of Pat literally chasing Kenny through the house to open the box and my mother and Leota shrieking like two little sixth graders when they opened the pink outfit was priceless.

In honor of Uncle Chad's lifelong dream to become one of Santa's elves, I bought Anderson this elf outfit for him to wear.

This year, we would have to start unwrapping Anderson's gifts for him, and then if it was something that interested him, he would say, "Open! Open!" until we finally got it unwrapped! Here he is looking at (pen)"guins" he got.
Adam and I hit the jackpot when we randomly found all sorts of wooden cars, trains, and airplanes in the dollar bin at Target before Christmas. That took care of Anderson's stocking!
We all went to Branson the week after Christmas for a Behind the Bench Coaches' Family Retreat that was put on by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It was amazing and a much needed getaway after the grueling hours and work of football season. It was such a blessing to us to stay at a nice hotel with meals, entertainment, and even childcare provided! We should know the Lord will take care of us, but He continues to exceed our expectations for no reason at all. Adam and I got to truly relax and spend time together as a family with no outside committments. There were sessions in the mornings and we had the afternoons free. Adam, and even me, were encouraged and motivated to continue ministering to these players. Adam really needed that, to be reminded that coaches are often times the most influential person in these boys' lives. Wins are nice, but what are you doing for the Lord? We met so many wonderful mentors and walked away feeling rejuvenated and with a plan for the coming months. Adam started up FCA at Central this past week and had 46 players come. That was without them knowing there was food! If you could help with this ministry, please let us know! There is a huge need and Adam is basically doing this on his own at Central, depending on outside help from parents and us. We are so thankful our church is stepping in to help as well. These boys are not "unreachable!" Only unreached.
After the retreat, we stayed an extra day to go to Silver Dollar City! Unfortunately, Santa had returned to the North Pole, but we had fun anyway!
