Baby is here!!

Cute wrinkly newborn feet!!

Like we had planned, Izabella was the first to "see" the gender and announced that it was a BOY!!!

We were all shocked!  I told Adam I had just KNOWN it was a girl and my mind was racing to all the boy names I had in my mind...

I can't believe Brittany caught this moment of Izabella's disappointment!!

We were all chatting and admiring the baby for about 20 minutes, when I started trying to push the placenta out.  I was looking down for that and thought I'd peek at the baby also....

I looked up to Izabella and said, "IZABELLA!  IT IS A GIRL!!"

So then erupted another set of cheers!  LOL

We figured out later she had seen the UMBILICAL CORD and thought it was a boy!  So we had planned out that she would announce the gender- we just neglected to go over what all the body parts might look like!!! HAHAHA

She could not wait to touch her little sister!!!  (there was quite a bit of vernix on the baby -much more than my other babies, and that also tells me she wasn't born too late at all because usually it has mostly absorbed back into the skin by birth- and Izabella didn't like how it felt HA!)

Like Izabella's birth, I had planned to labor in the tub.  I had seen the idea to put a birth mantra on a letter board so a few weeks ago,I made this one and then turned it around until "go time."  Except things went so fast, I forgot all about it until Izabella pulled it off the shelf!

Kim and Shea, the midwives helped me out of the tub so I could get to the bed and deliver the placenta there.  It was quite comical, coordinating me stepping out of the tub, with the umbilical cord still attached to the baby, the midwives holding a chux pad underneath to catch blood and also making  sure I am okay/steady on my feet, while me walking to the bed LOL

Shea did most of the assessments on the baby while she was on my chest or one of us was holding her.  We were all just on cloud nine!!

And by the way, her APGAR scores at birth were 9 and 10- total perfection!  SOOOO THANKFUL!

I believe these pictures were taken while Kim and Shea were cleaning up.  One of the things I love most about home birth is how slow everything is.  I was just able to take everything in and enjoy the little moments vs. hustle bustle of the hospital.

This time around, I DEFINITELY appreciated how involved Anderson and Izabella got to be!  They both loved helping Mrs. Shea take her measurements at 2:30 in the morning :)

Then came the moment we had all been waiting for!
Our baby fit in perfectly with her siblings with a weight of 9 lbs 9 oz
(Anderson was 9 lbs 10 oz and Izabella was 9 lbs 8 oz)

I had packed up my favorites of both kids' newborn outfits for the baby.  This was right after I told them the onesie they decided on for her to wear was the same one Izabella wore the night she was born!

No words neededπŸ’“

*LOVE THIS PIC!*

We snuggled our new baby while Kim and Shea started the laundry and tidied up πŸ’

TJ was never too far from the action

Her own baby πŸ˜‚

It was just the perfect night/morning LOL We were all so exhausted and so happy to have this little girl here with us OUTSIDE my body.  I was just so thankful for the support and love I felt from Kim, Shea, and of course, Adam, and elated for Anderson and Izabella to experience their little sister being born and for us all to share in this amazing, peaceful, and joyful eventπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’—

I didn't go to sleep that night.  At all.  That natural birth high from all the endorphins gets me every single time.  I just stared at her the rest of the night and thanked God for this baby that 5 years ago I never thought I would have.

All because two people fell in love...
