Third trimester fun

The Acklin family has been quite busy lately.  Adam has been gone several weekends to football coaching clinics, and I've tried to get things ready around the house.  Doing that is quite difficult with a toddler around.  I find myself staying up late at night to get things done because during the day Andersos demands my attention!

31 weeks

The girls in my Sunday School class and at my church threw me a shower.  Below are black and yellow M&M's, not black beans and edamame like I initially thought!

Me and the hostesses

No, no name yet.  Considering we didn't use any of the names we had picked out for Anderson, we figure we would just be wasting our time thinking of names before we see her!

A boy and his wagon...

Yes, he's wearing his cowboy boots.  What will we do when he outgrows them?

Adam received this in the mail last week...  from my father:

Only my father...
I don't know if anyone knows the story behind the "long legged blonde" joke, but I will try to explain.  My dad has a long running joke about chasing "long legged blondes."  Well, when my brother, Chad met Stacey, we officially had a "long legged blonde" in our family!  Then, before we found out the sex of the baby, Daddy jokingly kept asking, "Well, is it another hairy legged boy or a long legged blonde?"  It was so ironic to see this ultrasound picture

Her legs look very long, and the leg length actually measured bigger than anyother measurements they took!  (example:  Anderson's stomach measured the biggest!)

Something else that is interesting is that this whole pregnancy, I've kept saying how I feel like she is the longest baby ever, just because of how much pressure I feel from top to bottom.  I just feel her stretching so much more than Anderson.  I don't know if she is actually longer, or if it is because she is up so high.  I have not been able to do crunches for a while because she seriously in my rib cage.  At my 37 week appointment, the doctor said she didn't feel big (about 6.5 pounds-  DISCLAIMER:  Dr. Sellers also "thought" Anderson was about 7.5 - 8 pounds right before delivery) but she did feel long!  That was before I had told her anything!  We are so curious to see what she looks like...does she really have Adam's height/long legs or what?!

My dad surprised us and came down last Saturday morning!  He helped Adam put up Anderson's "wing!"

Anderson loved playing with my dad's dog, "Cookie."

Anderson and Grandpa Mike had lots of fun.  We all went to All Aboard, a train themed restaurant that delivers food to your table on a train, and Anderson asked Grandpa Mike to read his favorite book, Blue Train, Green Train to him.

Daddy couldn't believe how much Anderson had changed in just a few months.  Some funny things he noticed were:
Anderson was hungry, so on the way to the restaurant, he kept saying, "Anderson's turn!  Anderson's turn!"  "I want pizza!"
Then we ordered him a pizza, and he promptly ate it.  ALL.  Adam or my dad would try to sneak and fry, and he told them to "Stop!"
The first thing he asked Daddy Sunday morning was "Where Cookie?"  He loved playing with his dogs- a chihuahua and toy poodle.  They are just his size!

37 weeks!

Still feeling good!  Continuing my Stroller Strides twice a week, and minimal swelling so far.  My blood pressure continues to be perfect, so I am ecstatic.  So blessed.  And so not deserving.

All because two people fell in love...
