Goodbye Mommy...Hello Mammaw!  Today is my last day of maternity leave, and I have enjoyed having three months to spend with Anderson and get to know him!  It has been overwhelming and hard a lot of the time, but definitely worth it.  I am also looking forward to going back to work and having more of a normal routine, not to mention adult interaction, plus I'm looking forward to getting back to my precious stroke patients!  I will be going to Kenny and Pat's at lunch to feed Anderson myself, so that makes it easier, too, I think.  Now, once I get the pumping thing down, we'll be good!  The three of us did a dry run this morning, since today was Adam's first contract day at school (he's been doing football all day all summer).  I left at 6:45, then Adam got Anderson ready, complete with diaper bag and bottles, and left at 7:15.  Then we met at Starbucks!  Too bad every day can't be like that!!

Anderson's little personality is just coming out more and more everyday!  He smiles so much and at everyone.  When we were in the elevator going to the doctor's office, this little old lady talked to him and he gave her a big ol' grin!  Some other things that make him smile are me signing "Mommy loves Anderson!" to him, singing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm," the mobile hitting Adam in the head, and pretty much anything Adam says or does!  We keep thinking he's about to laugh, but it just comes out as a squeak!  He loves his bathtime too.  I keep thinking we will record it sometime but we are usually both giving it to him.

For his two month appointment, these were his "stats:"
Weight-13 pounds, 12 ounces -90th percentile
Height- 24 inches -83rd percentile

He's perfect!

He has rolled over from his stomach to his back, he has discovered his hands (they pretty much stay in his mouth- as many fingers/fists that will fit!), and last night he started hitting the buttons on his exersaucer to play music/sounds!  We thought Nana was crazy for bringing it for him, but he loves it and is able to stand up in it for a while!

The first time he found his thumb:

We finally got his newborn pictures back, and they turned out so cute!!  He doesn't look much different since he was so alert right from birth.  Here are a couple that weren't on the birth announcement

And this one will be a picture we show when he graduates high school!

All smiles

(getting too big for 0-3 month clothes!)

Anderson has also been to church and has gone to the nursery two times.  He is in the Baby Bluebirds class, and he loves it!  Here are some pictures of him and Daddy in their Sunday Best:

(Yes, the first one is a tux with a bowtie)

Anderson has a new fascination with mobiles and ceiling fans.  When we went to pick him up from the nursery last Sunday, all the babies in there were screaming and crying, and I just knew Anderson was upset, so I frantically looked around for him.  Only to find him laying face up in a crib just staring at a mobile!!  He was the only one being good!  It was so hilarious to see him just laying there staring at it, oblivious to all the commotion around him!

Daddy tried to figure out what the big deal is.

Adam sent me this for our four year anniversary!!

Every night after bathtime, Adam swaddles him and gets him ready for me to feed.  This is what I saw when I walked in his room a few nights ago:

In the meantime, this is what I get to look forward to every morning!  He sleeps so soundly all swaddled up.  Sometimes he "breaks out" with his hands like below.  Then when me or Adam goes in there, we "let him out," and he stretch stretch stretches!  He has been sleeping from 9:30 to 6:00 every night this week!  He kind of cat naps during the day, but Dr. Lu said not to worry since he is sleeping that much at night.

Tell me this isn't worth waking up for every morning!

If you haven't seen his birth announcement, here it is:

Adam chose the bible verse because of how true he says it is.  We truly DO keep receiving one blessing after another.  And we don't deserve it.  We couldn't ask Him for more!

All because two people fell in love...
