Anderson loved Santa Claus, and they had a long, meaningful conversation. :)

Two months in review
As I was editing this post, the song on the blog started playing. I chose that song for the blog when I was documenting my pregnancy. So much changes in a year. This time last year we didn't even know that Anderson was a boy- or if he was just one baby or two... Heck, he didn't even have a name for two days after he was born! Sometimes I wish I could go back and be pregnant with him again just because I know him now! It seemed so abstract when I was pregnant with him. I definitely didn't have a clue how attached and in love with him I would be!
We made it through football season, and the Central Tigers won 2 games, which is more than they've won in the past 2 years combined. They made it to the playoffs and lost, so now Adam is home right after school (most days)! It has been so nice! God is wonderful and He got us through perhaps the most trying period of our lives. Anderson is now SIX months old and if there was only one word to describe him, it would be "happy!" It is the truth. I can't count the times people and family members have said, "I've never heard him cry!" Of course, Adam and I know he DOES! But still, he is the most easy going and smiley baby! Jolly, even. :) Do you notice that Anderson's hair is turning BLOND? Adam is thrilled, of course, but I am mourning the loss of his dark hair he had when he was born!! His eyes are still blue, so that definitely makes Adam happy!

Here is a recap of the last two months:
Our family at Anderson's baby dedication! Immanuel had a luncheon for us after the service. Anderson actually fell sound asleep right before we went out, then at the end when everyone clapped, he woke up for us to walk out!
He was a true big boy, new suit complete with Kenneth Cole Reactions (from Gigi of course!)
Anderson is no long a Baby Bluebird in the nursery at Immanuel. He has moved up to the Baby Lions class and I am so sad.
Happy Halloween from Anderson Reed!
Proof that he DOES cry! (Not very often; it is funny how many people comment they have never heard him cry, even family members!)
This is at the Fall Festival at church with his cousins, Madison and Marshall. They love taking care of their little cousin!
Curious George, the Man in the Yellow Hat, and Maggie (the girlfriend-she's not in the book, only in the movie) Bubba is a banana! This is how we handed out candy Halloween night.
Happy Race for the Cure!
I ordered him a onesie that says "I'm not a girl! I wear pink for my great aunt!" Here is Anderson with my Aunt Jeanne, a 32 year survivor!!! She came down and did the race with us!
I've noticed I have a lot of pictures of Adam and Anderson together. Adam loves getting to spend more time with him, and he loves playing with and taking care of Anderson.
His daddy loves dressing him every morning. :)
He is now officially sleeping unswaddled every night! He does look so cute in his PJ's.
Like father, like son?
chunky monkey talking to Daddy in his Poplar Bluff Mules t shirt!
Isn't he so strong?! I wish I could say it's because of my occupational therapy skills, but I work in adult rehab!
Five minutes later, this is where he was! Isn't there an animal that crawls backwards? Or is it sideways?
Sitting up like a big boy and loves putting his hands (yes, plural, and at the same time!) in his mouth
Happy Birthday, Adam! Notice the special order onesie Anderson is wearing!!
Complete with Anderson love, aka drool.
More Tummy Tub fun!
Bathtime is something Adam always does with Anderson when he is home, which has been a lot more lately now that football season is over!
I couldn't get this picture to turn the right way. He looks sooo cute when he sleeps! A friend got us this little CuddleBudz bear that you stick in the microwave and it warms up his bed before we lay him down in it...so cozy!
Happy Thanksgiving from one little Indian! Again, thanks to his teacher, Mammaw, for this one!
Thanksgiving morning...before I went to work. Adam was sick in bed with the flu! Thankfully neither one of us caught it!!!
One word to describe Anderson: Happy!
Thanksgiving at Kenny and Pat's house (aka Adam's dad and stepmother, Pappaw and Mammaw)
Anderson and the Avocado!
So he didn't really care for the avocado, but no worries; we'll try again soon!
The adventure continues, and I'm just trying to memorize every single moment of it!

Best of Times, Worst of Times
Exhaustion. Stress. Anxiety. Frustration. Pure joy. Melt my heart love. Breathtaking moments. Overwhelmed by life. Overwhelmed with love. As you can tell from my lack of blog posts, life as a working mom, wife of a football coach, and mother to a baby has kept me somewhat busy lately. So much to tell and not enough time.
Little Rock Central football is well underway, and it's pretty much a one woman show. Adam works very late every night, and is gone for a good portion of Saturdays watching game film. Luckily he goes to work later than I do, so he gets to spend the mornings with Anderson and get him ready for school and out the door. Because Adam is the head coach of the freshman team, we try to go to all the freshman games. They are actually more fun to watch since he is calling the plays, plus me and Anderson get to see him more on those days, even if it is from a distance! He usually gets to come see us briefly after the games too.
Anderson is just changing and growing all the time, and it is so fun to see his personality come out! It is just priceless to hear him laugh, see him smile when I walk into the room, or even see his bottom lip pucker out before he cries, just like Adam did when he was little! It makes everything worth it, and that is why it is the worst of times and the best of times, all at the same time. I just have to make a conscious effort to cherish every little moment that happens during this time; I try to memorize it because I know it will be gone soon! As much as I know it will get easier, I am not going to wish this time away for anything. The Lord continues to bless Adam and me and we are so humbled.
Here are some pictures of Anderson over the past couple of months.

Here are some pictures of Anderson over the past couple of months.
He is becoming quite the chunk these days!
Red week at Mammaw's School (Every week, Anderson, Marshall, and Madison learn about a different color. They are supposed to wear that color to school each day and also bring something of that color.)
Green week; the eyes on the top of his head are supposed to be frog eyes, but we made them be crocodile eyes since he had that outfit!
Here is Adam in action!
Here is Anderson in action!
Fun with Nana and Pa before the game
He purposefully grabs things these days!
This is one day during green week. He fell asleep on the way home and I cracked up when I got him out and saw his "eyes" had turned around!
This is Anderson game day Friday morning, dressing out in Central attire (No one has to know it's actually Missouri Tigers!)
Anderson dressed down this Sunday, only in a sweater vest.
This is one of Anderson's friends, Carter. He is almost two years old.
Anderson and Adam having a conversation one morning, probably before the daily recital of The Pledge of Allegiance. (Yes, they say it every morning at seven o'clock is what I'm told!)
Of all the things Adam does, he's managed to add something else to his plate, and of course, do a great job with it. He really has a heart for reaching kids. Check out this article in The Tiger, Central's school newspaper:
The next big event that we are so excited about is the Baby Dedication service at church next weekend, October 3rd. The church will recognize each child and their parents as we commit to raise Anderson to know and love the Lord! Our families are coming, and the church is having a luncheon for us afterward. Anyone is welcome to come! It will be a fun and meaningful day for the Acklin family. The service is at 9:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church. And of course, Anderson has a new suit he will be wearing :)
No promises on the next blog post. Please pray for us to make it through football season and continue working as a team to run the household and take care of Anderson Acklin!
